Second Trimester Essentials
I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant. I’ve finally reached the last stretch of this pregnancy. Like always, keep your eyes out for a Third Trimester Essentials post to come! It’ll probably be out shortly after little man is here. These are my must have products that got me through my second trimester.
Now that first trimester is long gone, my belly has been growing at a rather large speed. My pants, bras, and undies no longer fit comfortably. Luckily I can still fit into most of my small/medium shirts, so I haven’t had to get too many of those. However, I’ve had to invest into other maternity clothing (which is surprisingly way more comfy than regular clothes). I highly recommend any maternity clothing from Target. I tried to find my favorite pants to link for you guys, but I’m assuming they were discontinued. When I got them, they were 70% off and 10% off of clearance, so I bought a few pairs for $7 each. Talk about a steal!
Being pregnant in the middle of spring and summer heat is hard enough as it is, and most of the time the last thing I want to do is wear pants. I’ve been living in large t-shirt’s and t-shirt dresses. Not only do they keep me cool, but they are super comfy and cute too! I found this one at my local TjMaxx for under $15.00.
Repeat offender from my first trimester essentials! I told you guys I couldn’t live without my Yeti, and I still can’t! I’m constantly thirsty and craving cold water. I refill the Yeti full all day to make sure I’m never without water. This pink Yeti is my absolute favorite.
To go along with my Yeti, the next essential is flavor water. Most days, I’m drinking ice cold lemon water. In my 30 week pregnancy update, you can read all about my addiction to lemon water. I’ve also been trying to stay away from soda so I’ve been loving the La Croix Sparkling Water. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’m constantly making “mocktails” and fun summer drinks with La Croix. I also enjoy adding different fruits, cucumbers, and mint to my water.
I’ve never been a mom before, so I’m trying to gain as much knowledge as a I can before baby gets here. I recently started reading the Baby Wise book, that I intend on using and implementing into our routine.
I’ve been one of the unlucky women who’s gotten stretch marks. No matter how many creams, lotions, and oils I’ve used, I’ve still gotten them. I’m assuming that means they’re genetic, boo! Although you can’t always prevent stretch marks, you can treat them. You can see my post of my favorite stretch mark creams here, but the one I’ve been using most is the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula for Stretch Marks and plain vitamin E oil.
Exercise was definitely easier in the second trimester than first, so I tried my hardest to take advantage of it. I’d be lying if I said I went to the gym or did yoga every day, but I tried my best to go walking every day in the evenings with my husband. I truly could feel a positive difference in my fatigue and body once I started making walking a regular thing.
